To continue building Ithaca Football and take our program to the next level, Giving Day will support essential costs and several key priorities:
Enhanced Year-Round Nutrition
Our top priority is fueling our athletes. Your donations help us provide:
- In-office snacks for student-athletes
- Supplemental meals while traveling
- Game-day snacks, including fresh fruit
- Additional meals and snacks during fall camp and spring ball
- Year-round post-lift recovery drinks (including chocolate milk)
Our goal is to continue providing these benefits while improving the quality and nutrition of the food and supplements available to our players. We are always looking for ways to give our athletes an additional healthy meal during the day. And with a Dairy Queen now in town, we would also love to provide a mid–fall camp Blizzard break to boost team morale!
Improved Technology and Training Equipment
As the game evolves, so do the technology and training resources needed to stay competitive.
This season we are planning for additional costs associated with:
- New cameras for filming practices and games
- In-helmet communication systems
- Video replay capabilities
We would also like to add 30–40 GPS tracking units for our two-deep players to wear during practice. These units allow us to monitor player workload and recovery, reduce the risk of soft-tissue injuries, and ensure our athletes are peaking on Saturdays while making practices as game-like and efficient as possible.
Additionally, we are looking to purchase 4–6 prowler sleds for our strength and conditioning program to use both in-season and during the offseason. Football requires our players—especially our linemen—to move people against their will. We need the right training tools to develop that strength and power.
Improved Graphics, Branding in Team and Staff Areas
Thanks to a generous recent donation, we were able to complete Phase 1 of the Player Meeting Room renovation, which included:
- New carpet
- A new whiteboard
- 15 theatre-style chairs
- A new couch
For Phase 2, we hope to improve the room’s branding and functionality by adding wall wraps, a recruiting display wall, and enhanced media displays. This room is a central meeting space for our players for both football and academic programming.
Recruiting
Recruiting is the lifeblood of our program. Your support allows us to recruit on a Division I timeline and standard, identifying top talent early and providing a first-class visit experience for prospective student-athletes and their families.
Giving Day support helps fund:
- 7–10 days on the road each spring (NY, NJ, PA, and New England)
- 7–10 summer camps per coach in June
- Year-round recruiting letter campaigns
- Name tags and printed materials for game-day visits
- Bye-week recruiting trips to games and schools
- A late-fall recruiting trip to Florida (10 Bombers expected in 2026)
- Five official visit weekends in December and January
- Recruiting database software to identify out-of-area prospects
- …and much more
Our staff and players do an incredible job closing when we get our top recruits on campus. Your support allows us to take the necessary steps to identify, evaluate, and bring the right student-athletes to Ithaca to represent our program.
Equipment, Apparel, and Gear
Each year we welcome 30–40 new Bombers into the program who need to be fully outfitted. In addition, some helmets fail reconditioning each year and must be replaced, and new travel gear must be purchased. We also use apparel to encourage competition during our winter training—because everyone loves a free T-shirt!
Your support helps fund:
- Gloves
- Travel gear
- Shorts and T-shirts
- Winter Warrior competition shirts
- New helmets (Axiom models) and shoulder pads to enhance player safety
A gift today will help grow Ithaca Football exponentially, energizing our coaches and student-athletes while keeping the next level firmly in sight. Your support helps propel Bomber Football into the upcoming season and into the years ahead.
Thank you for supporting Bomber Football.
