Support the BAM! Program: Gender‑Affirming Care That Changes Lives
Thank you for visiting LGBTQ Center on 2026 Giving Day! This year, the Center will again be focusing its fundraising efforts in support of the Binders and More (BAM!) program.
Gender‑affirming undergarments are a simple yet profoundly impactful form of care, supporting trans and gender‑expansive people’s health, comfort, confidence, and safety. At Ithaca College, the BAM! program ensures that students can access this care with dignity, expertise, and compassion.
The BAM! program offers Ithaca College students the opportunity to special order one free gender-affirming undergarment annually, including chest binders, binding tape, and tucking underwear. But BAM! is about much more than material access. The program pairs each order with comprehensive education on safe binding and tucking practices, as well as unlimited individualized consultations tailored to students’ bodies, goals, and lived experiences.
Piloted during the 2024–2025 academic year, BAM! has already served nearly 100 students, meeting a critical and often unmet need for free, affirming, and medically informed support. For many students — especially those who cannot safely access gender‑affirming garments at home or afford them independently — BAM! is not just helpful, but essential.
This Giving Day, we are seeking to raise $2,500 to double our capacity and expand BAM! for the coming academic year — ensuring that even more trans and gender‑expansive students can learn, live, and thrive as their authentic selves.
