The Martin Luther King Scholar Program prepares academically talented undergraduate students for the development of knowledge, skills, and ethical values by engaging them in meaningful learning opportunities that foster social justice service and leadership development.
Over a four-year experience, MLK Scholars study civil and human rights, develop case studies in global justice under the leadership of esteemed faculty, and are challenged and supported to develop their reach and impact at Ithaca College and in their home communities.
Your support on Giving Day helps sustain the impact of the MLK Scholars Program. Donor contributions can help support student research and presentations, help fund our signature immersive experiences such as our first-year Civil Rights Tour, and enhance opportunities for community engagement and leadership development.
This Giving Day, we are seeking to raise $5,000 to support our vision of bringing back the International trip to Ghana — ensuring we restore this MLK Scholar tradition.
Here is an example of the impact your donation can have:
- $50: Covers the cost of one scholar's daily meal allowance
- $3,500: Covers the cost of one student to attend the civil rights tour
Your gift invests in the next generation of changemakers, as our students carry forward Dr. King’s legacy through thoughtful leadership, service, and a lifelong commitment to justice. Thank you for your generosity and support!
