Hello ICPT Alumni,
As you consider donating to the Ithaca College Annual Fund, I’d like to share how the PT Department has used our annual funds in the last year to support our students.
Conference Attendance at CSM:
ICPT Annual funds were used to support six students’ attendance at APTA CSM in Anaheim, CA this year. It total, sixteen ICPT students attended the conference this year, and several students and recent graduates were involved in presenting research or volunteering for fitness screening at the Anaheim Community Center. You can read more about ICPT’s activities at CSM in the Spring 2026 PT Department Newsletter.
NPTE review Prep Course:
ICPT Annual Funds continued to support the integration of Final Frontier into our curriculum. Final Frontier is a preparation course for the NTPE, and annual funds completely support the fees for our students, who receive access to the program beginning in the Spring semester of DPT 3 and lasts for 12 months. Since implementing this resource, our department’s first-time NPTE pass rate has risen to 93.9%, well above the national average of 86.6%.
Treatment Tables for study abroad at the London Center:
Dr. John Winslow, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Chair, will be taking 13 students to London at the end of May for 2 weeks. This short-term study abroad experience offers Ithaca College physical therapy students a unique opportunity to travel to London and immerse themselves in the practice and principles of osteopathy and manual medicine. Throughout this program, students will gain firsthand experience with osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and explore the integration of osteopathy into a healthcare system outside of the United States. This experience will broaden their professional perspectives, enhance their clinical skills, and foster a deeper understanding of global healthcare practices. ICPT Annual Funds supported purchasing the necessary treatment tables for this experience, which will be kept at IC’s London Center. Dr. Winslow plans to make this an annual event.
Thank you,
Michael Costello, PT, DSc, OCS, MTC
