Your gift to the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology and the Ewing Speech & Hearing Clinic is used to support students directly, providing much-needed funding for them to travel to present their work at national conferences. It can help us purchase equipment and materials for clinical training, and supplies for student research and projects. Our students work closely with faculty, co-authoring presentations and publications, and they are involved in our faculty’s innovative and impactful projects, such as:
· Dr. Matt Zellner’s innovative approach to supporting families of preschoolers with early language intervention needs, via a telepractice coaching model. Students garner valuable experience working with families, while providing a much-needed resource for early intervention.
· Dr. David Bayne’s use of simulation-based learning to ready students for practice in high-stakes medical settings, and his work in IC’s inter-professional Parkinson support group, giving them hands-on experience collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
· Dr. David Hajjar’s work with non-speaking communicators who utilize technology, such as iPads, helping them access community opportunities for engagement.
Thank you for considering a gift to SLPA—we appreciate your support!
